Acceptable Use Policy
This acceptable use policy covers the products, services, and technologies (collectively referred to as the "Products") provided by Nori (represented by M. S. B) under any ongoing agreement. It’s designed to protect us, our customers and the general Internet community from unethical, irresponsible and illegal activity, and to set specific guardrails for the responsible use of AI and automation inside Nori.
Nori (represented by M. S. B) customers found engaging in activities prohibited by this acceptable use policy can be liable for service suspension and account termination. In extreme cases, we may be legally obliged to report such customers to the relevant authorities.
This policy was last reviewed on November 17, 2025.
Fair Use
We provide our facilities with the assumption your use will be "business as usual", as per our offer schedule. If your use is considered to be excessive, then additional fees may be charged or capacity may be restricted (for example, if automated usage volumes materially exceed normal business usage patterns).
We are opposed to all forms of abuse, discrimination, rights infringement and/or any action that harms or disadvantages any group, individual or resource. We expect our customers and, where applicable, their users ("end-users") to likewise engage our Products with similar intent.
Customer Accountability
We regard our customers as being responsible for their own actions as well as for the actions of anyone using our Products with the customer's permission. This responsibility also applies to anyone using our Products on an unauthorized basis as a result of the customer's failure to put in place reasonable security measures.
By accepting Products from us, our customers agree to ensure adherence to this policy on behalf of anyone using the Products as their end users, including employees, contractors and other users who interact with Nori through connected email, calendar and third-party accounts.
Customers are responsible for:
- choosing which accounts and tools are connected to Nori;
- ensuring that any automations and AI-powered Actions configured in Nori are appropriate for their use case; and
- ensuring that such use complies with internal company policies, confidentiality obligations and applicable laws and regulations.
Complaints regarding the actions of customers or their end-users will be forwarded to the nominated contact for the account in question.
If a customer — or their end-user or anyone using our Products as a result of the customer — violates this acceptable use policy, we reserve the right to terminate any Products associated with the offending account or the account itself or take any remedial or preventative action we deem appropriate without notice. To the extent permitted by law, no credit will be available for interruptions of service resulting from any violation of this acceptable use policy.
Prohibited Activity
1. Copyright Infringement and Access to Unauthorized Material
Our Products must not be used to transmit, distribute or store any material in violation of any applicable law. This includes but isn't limited to:
- any material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization; and
- any material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat or violates export control laws.
The customer is solely responsible for all material they input, upload, disseminate, transmit, create or publish through or on our Products, and for obtaining legal permission to use any works included in such material.
2. Spam and Unauthorized Message Activity
Our Products must not be used for the purpose of sending unsolicited bulk or commercial messages in violation of the laws and regulations applicable to your jurisdiction ("spam"). This includes but isn't limited to sending spam, soliciting customers from spam sent from other service providers, and collecting replies to spam sent from other service providers.
Our Products must not be used for the purpose of running unconfirmed mailing lists or telephone number lists ("messaging lists"). This includes but isn't limited to subscribing email addresses or telephone numbers to any messaging list without the permission of the email address or telephone number owner, and storing any email addresses or telephone numbers subscribed in this way. All messaging lists run on or hosted by our Products must be "confirmed opt-in". Verification of the address or telephone number owner's express permission must be available for the lifespan of the messaging list.
We prohibit the use of email lists, telephone number lists or databases purchased from third parties intended for spam or unconfirmed messaging list purposes on our Products.
This spam and unauthorized message activity policy applies to messages sent using our Products, or to messages sent from any network by the customer or any person on the customer's behalf, that directly or indirectly refer the recipient to a site or content hosted via our Products.
In particular, you must not use Nori’s AI features or automations to:
- generate or send bulk unsolicited emails or messages;
- create deceptive or manipulative outreach (for example, pretending to be a different person or misrepresenting the nature of a message); or
- otherwise bypass anti-spam or consent requirements.
3. Unethical, Exploitative, and Malicious Activity
Our Products must not be used for the purpose of advertising, transmitting or otherwise making available any software, program, product or service designed to violate this acceptable use policy, or the acceptable use policy of other service providers. This includes but isn't limited to facilitating the means to send spam and the initiation of network sniffing, pinging, packet spoofing, flooding, mail-bombing and denial-of-service attacks.
Our Products must not be used to access any account or electronic resource where the group or individual attempting to gain access does not own or is not authorized to access the resource (e.g. "hacking", "cracking", "phreaking", etc.).
Our Products must not be used for the purpose of intentionally or recklessly introducing viruses or malicious code into our Products and systems.
Our Products must not be used for purposely engaging in activities designed to harass another group or individual. Our definition of harassment includes but is not limited to denial-of-service attacks, hate-speech, advocacy of racial or ethnic intolerance, and any activity intended to threaten, abuse, infringe upon the rights of or discriminate against any group or individual.
Other activities considered unethical, exploitative and malicious include:
- Obtaining (or attempting to obtain) services from us with the intent to avoid payment;
- Using our facilities to obtain (or attempt to obtain) services from another provider with the intent to avoid payment;
- The unauthorized access, alteration or destruction (or any attempt thereof) of any information about our customers or end-users, by any means or device;
- Using our facilities to interfere with the use of our facilities and network by other customers or authorized individuals;
- Publishing or transmitting any content or links that incite violence, depict a violent act, depict child sexual abuse or exploitation, or otherwise threaten anyone's health and safety;
- Any act or omission in violation of consumer protection laws and regulations;
- Any violation of a person's privacy; or
- Using Nori to generate or disseminate content that meaningfully facilitates wrongdoing (including but not limited to instructions for fraud, scams, malware, or serious violent harm).
Our Products may not be used by any person or entity which is involved with or suspected of involvement in activities or causes relating to illegal gambling; terrorism; narcotics trafficking; arms trafficking or the proliferation, development, design, manufacture, production, stockpiling, or use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, weapons of mass destruction, or missiles; in each case including any affiliation with others who support such activities or causes.
4. AI-Specific and High-Risk Uses
Because Nori uses AI and can take actions through your connected tools, certain use cases are not allowed, even if they might otherwise be legal in your jurisdiction.
You must not use our Products to:
- Develop or deploy weapons or military use cases intended to cause physical harm or to meaningfully facilitate harm.
- Create, train or operate surveillance or tracking systems that monitor individuals or groups in ways that violate their reasonable expectation of privacy, including mass surveillance or persistent tracking without appropriate legal basis.
- Analyze or infer sensitive attributes (such as race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health status, sexual orientation or gender identity) from images, text or other data, or to build biometric identification or emotion-recognition systems targeting individuals.
- Provide medical diagnosis, treatment decisions or emergency response where a licensed professional is not in the loop. Nori may not be used as a substitute for professional judgment in healthcare or other safety-critical domains.
- Provide binding legal, financial, tax or investment advice without appropriate human review by a qualified professional, or to draft legal instruments intended to be used without such review.
- Control or operate critical infrastructure (including but not limited to power, water, transport, industrial systems or life-support equipment) where malfunction or misuse could result in significant harm to people or property.
- Interfere with democratic processes, including generating large-scale political persuasion content targeted at specific demographic groups, or coordinating disinformation campaigns around elections or public policy.
We may update this list over time to reflect evolving regulations and best practices for AI safety.
5. Data Protection, Privacy and Sensitive Data
You must use Nori in a way that respects the privacy and data protection rights of others.
In particular, you must not use our Products to:
- Upload or process personal data where you do not have a lawful basis, appropriate consent, or other necessary authorization under applicable data protection laws;
- Intentionally upload or process special categories of personal data (such as health data, biometric identifiers, or information about a person’s sexual life, sexual orientation, religion, political opinions or trade union membership) unless:
- this is strictly necessary for your use case;
- you have a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards in place; and
- such processing is not prohibited by this policy or by our other terms;
- Re-identify individuals from anonymized, pseudonymized or aggregated datasets;
- Use Outputs or Nori’s capabilities to intrude into a person’s private life in ways that a reasonable person would find highly offensive;
- Use Nori to scrape, collect or aggregate personal data at scale from third-party services or websites in violation of their terms or applicable law.
You remain responsible for ensuring that your use of Nori is compatible with your own privacy notices, internal policies and legal obligations.
6. Circumventing Employer and Third-Party Policies
Nori frequently operates in work environments and connects to corporate systems. You must not use our Products to:
- Bypass, undermine or attempt to circumvent your employer’s or organization’s internal security, privacy, access control or acceptable use policies;
- Access, read, forward or act upon emails, calendar events, documents or other data that you are not authorized to access in the underlying system;
- Automate behavior that would violate the terms of service of third-party platforms (for example, impersonating a human browser to bypass rate limits or access controls, or automating account activities that the provider explicitly forbids);
- Misrepresent your identity or your relationship to your employer or any other person or entity when sending communications or taking actions through Nori.
You are responsible for confirming that you have obtained any required approvals or permissions before connecting work accounts or using Nori in a professional context.
7. Misuse of Automation and Actions
Nori can perform or propose Actions through connected tools (such as sending emails, updating calendar events, creating tasks, or editing documents). You must not configure or use these capabilities to:
- Perform automated actions at a scale or frequency that interferes with the normal operation of third-party services or that would reasonably be considered abusive or disruptive;
- Send communications that impersonate other individuals without their knowledge and consent;
- Execute destructive actions (such as bulk deletion of data, mass cancellation of meetings, or malicious configuration changes) except where this is clearly authorized and intentional;
- Delegate to Nori decisions or actions that you are legally or contractually required to perform personally, where such delegation would violate applicable laws, regulations or contractual obligations.
Unauthorized Use of Nori (represented by M. S. B) Property
We prohibit the impersonation of Nori (represented by M. S. B), the representation of a significant business relationship with Nori (represented by M. S. B), or ownership of any Nori (represented by M. S. B) property (including our Products and brand) for the purpose of fraudulently gaining service, custom, patronage or user trust.
You must not:
- claim that Nori has certified, audited or approved your use case unless we have expressly done so in writing; or
- use our name, logo or branding in a way that is likely to cause confusion about who is providing a product or service.
