Terms of Service

Nori has been discontinued. The assistant is offline, and we are no longer accepting new users or running the service. This page records the terms that governed your use of Nori while it operated, and the parts of those terms that continue to apply after wind-down. It is provided by Nori Labs, Inc. ("Nori", "we", "us").

What Nori was

Nori was an AI assistant that connected to tools you chose, such as email, calendar, and task managers, and could draft content, propose actions, and carry out tasks on your behalf through those connected accounts. References to the "Services" below mean the Nori website, applications, integrations, and AI features as they existed while the service was offered.

Accounts and connected accounts

To use Nori you created an account and were responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the activity that took place under your account. When you connected a third-party or work account, you confirmed that you had the authority and permissions needed to let Nori access and act on that data, and you remained responsible for keeping your use of Nori consistent with your employer's policies and any other obligations you were under. We did not independently verify that authorization.

Your content and data

You owned the content and data you provided to or generated through the Services. To run the assistant, you granted us a limited license to host, process, and transmit that content solely to operate, support, secure, and improve the Services and to meet our legal obligations. We did not sell your data, and we did not use the contents of your connected accounts to train AI models. How we handled personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which that notice now updates for the wind-down period.

AI outputs and actions

Nori's features relied on artificial intelligence, which can produce results that are inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Its outputs were provided for general productivity purposes and were never a substitute for professional legal, financial, medical, or other advice. Any action the assistant proposed or performed through your connected accounts was carried out under your authorization, and you remained responsible for reviewing those actions and for their consequences.

Acceptable use

While Nori operated, you agreed to use it lawfully and not to misuse the service or the accounts you connected to it. Those expectations are recorded in our Acceptable Use Policy, which remains available for reference.

Intellectual property

Apart from your own content, the Services and everything in them, including the software, design, text, and branding, were owned by or licensed to Nori and remain our property. While the service was available you had a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under these terms; that right ended when the service was discontinued.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services were provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Services or their outputs were accurate, reliable, secure, or uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Nori Labs, Inc. nor its suppliers are liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from the use or inability to use the Services, any outputs, or any actions taken through them. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of one hundred euros (EUR 100) and the total amount you paid us for the Services in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case our liability is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.

Discontinuation of the service

Nori is no longer offered. Access to the Services has ended, and the provisions of these terms that by their nature should continue, including those covering intellectual property, data use, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, survive the discontinuation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
